ABOUT: A BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Cape Cod Compass—A project and organization dedicated to art, science, design and conservation within coastal communities. Our mission is to explore and educate through storytelling.
The Cape Cod Compass was originally a magazine in the 1970s exploring life on the Cape and Islands. The optimistic and holistic approach it took to coastal life is an inspiration. And as less optimistic times are upon us, we hope nostalgic nods to the magazines original design and subject matter might bring everyone a bit of joy.
Our initial stories will look at ecology, coastal architecture, vacations in the time of covid and Cape Cods photographic history.
As this project develops and evolves we’ll be brining you stories about the bottom of the ocean, how to dig your own dinner, costal designs, people profiles and much more.
And though Cape Cod is in our name, it’s only the jump-off point, or home base—we see all coasts as one coast.
Thanks for visiting and looking forward,
AAB
